These boots are the most confortable I have so far. I walk home from work daily with them and don't even feel the road. They are an investment in well being.Stylish and supportive bootie. Fast delivery!I'd wanted these booties for a while. Was hesitant because a few years ago, I'd gotten a pair of Dansko "Harlow" Mary Janes, size 40 (my shoe size is 9), and they murdered my toes. The day I wore them, I had to cut my excursion short for the pain. Wearing them around the house with thick socks (in the hopes that they'd stretch) didn't help either. Maybe I should've sized up which is what I did when ordering the Maria bootie.I ordered these Dansko Maria's in size 9.5-10. Wearing them around the house, they felt great. Couldn't wait to wear them out and about. When I did, they felt great at first. Then I started feeling some friction against the big toe on my left foot. Odd because the boots are pretty roomy. Not TOO big roomy but comfortably roomy. I wore the booties sans socks but there's enough room for me to comfortably wear a pair. Some boots can suck socks down into them. These booties feel like they will do that. If anyone has worn the Dansko Maria's with socks, feel free to share and leave a comment on this review.I'm not a high heels person. The heel on the Maria is about 2" but the lift (for lack of a better word) on the front of the sole makes it about 1.5". That along with the cushioning makes these booties very comfortable to walk in.I ordered the taupe color and it's a great neutral. I usually switch up footwear colors according to the colors of my outfit. Color wise, These go well with everything.Because of the toe discomfort from the two pairs of Dansko's, this is definitely my last pair of Dansko's. The next time I wear the Maria's, I'll put a Band-aid over the toe where the friction. Hopefully that helps. *fingers crossed*UPDATE: Wore my Dansko's out this past Saturday and, according to my Fitbit tracker, walked 7.1 miles. The rubbing against my big toe was remedied with a small Band-aid to the area. After a few hours of walking, the balls of my feet felt some discomfort. Nothing too uncomfortable; completely manageable. I gained more appreciation for the Dansko Maria's when I'd gone into a store and tried on a pair of Doc Martens 1460 boots. As soon as I stood up in the Martens and their "Air Cushioned sole", my feet wanted to get back into the Danskos, lol. After my painful, toe jamming experience with my very first pair of Danskos (Harlow's) and the blister I'd received on my toe after wearing this 2nd pair (Maria's) for the first time, I was done with Danskos. But, nah. I'll just size up. My first pair, I purchased my size which is 8.5-9. With these Maria's, I purchased 9.5-10. If I buy Danskos again in the future, I'll stick with the larger size. Oh! And, a concern I'd had with my previous review... Socks! I wore a pair of thin socks this 2nd outing and, as I'd thought, the socks slipped into the boots as I walked but it was very minimal *phew*! Sooo, I'd definitely recommend these. My 7 mile walk was pretty comfy in these booties. Hopefully, you won't get any blisters or need any Band-aids. Perhaps that was just the breaking in period.Super comfy and easy to break in! Great support on concrete floors even 10 hours in.I love the style and fit of these boots. They are perfect with leggings and skinny jeans, and the taupe color goes with almost anything. I think it would be helpful; however, to give some specific guidance regarding fit.First, I disregarded some of the reviews that noted that these boots run large, and ordered my normal size in Dansko, 39. I'm a teacher and work on my feet all day. I wore them all day today right out of the box, and they were very comfortable, with no "break in" necessary. It wasn't until I took them off tonight that I noticed that they are not 39s at all. Though the box is marked 39, the shoes are a size 38. I guess I really did need to size down!I have a "low volume" foot, meaning that I have a very shallow instep. I have no problem with the fit, but I imagine that someone with an average-to-high instep would have trouble, because they seem to be narrow across the instep. Having said that, I was able to use my prescription orthotics in these boots with no problem, which brings me to my next point. . .I have a lot of trouble with my feet, and I LIVE in my Danskos. My students and colleagues know me for my quirky clogs. It's the only shoe I can wear comfortably. These boots LOOK like they have the same footbed as the clogs, but they don't really. I need to use my orthotics in them for the necessary arch support, whereas I don't need to with my clogs.Seriously, you can't beat the quality and comfort of Dansko clogs. I've worn them religiously for about three years, and I've eliminated the foot, knee and back pain that I've dealt with since I started teaching almost 20 years ago. It's even changed my gait to the point that my husband has noticed and people aren't always asking me why I'm limping.So, go ahead and give these a try. Just be sure to check the size when you get them.Very comfortable. Just as comfortable as my Dansko clogs that I have been wearing for five years straight. Sooo stylish. I'm very happy but one thing I wish is that they had these in black leather not suede. They scuff a bit easily. Nothing some shoe polish or a sharpie can't fix.I am a stage manager and am on my feet for 12+ hours a day during tech and shows. I bought these in black because I needed a "nicer" comfy black shoe that wasn't a sneaker or ballet flat. (Dress heals would not be practical or comforatable for backstage.)As soon as I got these and wore them for a few days of tech, I knew that I had found the most comfortable pair of shoes I would ever own. I immediately went online to buy the taupe color so I could have a second pair. If they came in a dark brown, I would have bought that too! I live in these shoes now - even when I don't have to wear them for work. They are even more comfortable than my $120 pair of Asics running sneakers.The only tiny little con:I had to order two sizes to see which fit best at first. I am a true women's 10 and ordered these in a 41 and 42 to start out. The 42(11.5) was definitely the best fit. I strongly suggest everyone else buy them in two sizes, see which one fits best, and then return the other pair. Its a bit of a hassle, but you will thank yourself once you find the perfect fit!Very comfortable and stylish. Been watching for years now & finally bought bc they are still in style. It does annoy me that the ankle is wide from the side view (not the front) compared to my swedish hasbeens BUT the comfort is SOOOOO amazing that it will make your job a dream.Ooooohhhh these boots. They are wonderful. I fit a 40 in Burks and I'm a 39 in these and they fit like a dream. I went off the size comparison chart on Dansko's website. I NEVER wear high heels and these might not seem like high heels to many. But to me, they're like runway shoes. I was looking for a replacement work shoe and had been hearing about dansko's for life. These have the same heel height as their standard clog so I thought what the heck. I'm a registered massage therapist. And I provide some pretty serious massage so I put my shoes through the ringer. I mainly bought these because they're so dang gorgeous. And they are. More in person if you can imagine. I get compliments AAAAAALLLLLLL the time. I figured if they don't work for massaging, which I thought all too likely, I'll just have them for pretty times. Well, let me tell ya, they are even more comfortable than my Burks! I don't get the across the pads of my feet pain after an 8 hour day of massaging that I started to with my Burks. What a pleasant astonishment. If you're looking for style, get these. They will please you. I have honestly just sat and stroked their buttery soft contours. If you're looking for comfort, get them. You think you're gonna use them harder than a deep tissue massage therapist? Get them.I recently purchased these boots and instantly understand why people rave about the brand. These are incredibly comfortable and practical yet also stylish. On a busy trip I wore these boots covering 10km+ walking in a day and they were perfection, even preferable to running shoes due to the support for my ankles. I recommend highly and will probably buy another colour.At least the black one doesn’t look that fancy as the photo. A little tight. Returned themDansko is always a consistent fit.
